HOW TO MAKE OR PREPARE GARLIC COCONUT CHUTNEY RECIPE

Take a mixer grinder.  Add the grated coconut, green chillies, ginger, roasted chana dal, coriander leaves and salt.  Add little water and grind to a smooth paste.

Remove the chutney in a serving bowl.

For the seasoning, heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a small tadka pan.  Add mustard seeds and once it starts spluttering, add urad dal and saute till golden brown in colour.  Add curry leaves and pour this seasoning to the chutney. (I have not seasoned the chutney as I prefer it plain.  So the pic shown is without the seasoning).  Mix well and serve the chutney as a side dish with idlis, dosas, uthapams or adai.
