Step 1
HOW TO MAKE RIBBON PAKODA RECIPE In a bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, asafoetida, red chilli powder, sesame seeds, butter and salt and mix well.
Step 2
Add little water and make a soft dough similar to chapati dough. Keep it aside.
Step 3
Put the dough into the mould press having 4 lines and close with the lid.
Step 4
Heat sufficient oil in a heavy bottomed kadai. Once the oil becomes hot enough, gently press the mould into a circular motion directly into the oil. Deep fry on both the sides till light golden brown in colour.
Step 5
Remove them in an absorbent paper to remove the excess oil. Once it comes to room temperature, store ribbon pakodas in an airtight container.
Step 6
NOTES: Instead of ghee or butter, you can also use oil at the time of making the dough. To check if the oil is hot enough for deep frying, just drop a small piece of dough into the oil. If the dough rises to the top immediately, it means oil is ready for frying.
