HOW TO MAKE MOONG DAL KHICHDI RECIPE Wash the rice and moong dal thoroughly and soak with sufficient water for half an hour to 45 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Heat a small pressure cooker on a low flame. Add ghee, mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once the seeds start crackling, add ginger and black pepper corns and stir fry for half a minute.
Then add soaked rice and dal and 4 to 5 cups of water. Add turmeric powder and salt and mix well.
Close with the cooker lid and pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles. Once the pressure is cooled down completely, open the lid and add little extra ghee and mix well.

NOTES : Add ghee to the khichdi at the time of serving which will enhance the taste. You can make khichdi with split green moong instead of yellow gram which is also a healthier version of khichdi.
