Kulfi is a delicious. popular and frozen Indian dessert made from milk and sugar. Kulfi is similar to ice-cream in taste and appearance but it is denser and creamier. There are different variations of kulfi – badam kulfi, kesar kulfi, pista kulfi, malai kuli and mango kulfi. Chocolate kulfi is a favourite of many, especially kids. Chocolate kulfi is prepared with milk, sugar and cocoa powder and I have added little choco chips to give a more chocolatey flavour to the kulfi. It is an ideal summer treat for kids as well as elders. Do try this rich and chocolate flavoured kulfi this summer season and enjoy..

HOW TO MAKE OR PREPARE CHOCOLATE KULFI OR CHOCO KULFI RECIPE
Heat milk in a wide deep-bottomed pan and bring it to a nice boil. Once the milk reaches a nice boil, lower the flame and add condensed milk, milk powder and sugar. Stir nicely.
Boil the milk on a low flame and bring it to almost half the original quantity. Keep stirring in between to ensure that the milk does not get burnt. Keep scraping the sides in between, while stirring occasionally.
Once the milk quantity is reduced to almost half its original volume (takes almost 30-40 minutes to come to half its volume) add the cocoa powder and mix well again. Cook on low flame for another 2 minutes. Switch off the flame.
Allow the mixture to cool down and come to room temperature.
Pour the mixture into the kulfi moulds. Add the choco chips on the top and close the moulds with its lid. Keep the moulds in the deep freezer for upto 6-7 hours and allow it to set. Then unmould with a butter knife. You can also rub the moulds between your palms or dip the moulds in warm water to quickly remove the kulfi.
Serve chocolate kulfis immediately chilled and enjoy!!
NOTES/TIPS
If you do not have the kulfi moulds, pour the mixture in an aluminium box and freeze. You can then cut into desired shapes.
Keep stirring the milk continuously in between, to avoid milk getting burnt.
Adjust sugar according to sweet taste required by you.
Kulfi better than icecreams. Easy to prepare & enjoy. The upper choco chips in the bite will be delicious.
