- Cardamom/elaichi powder - 1/4 teaspoo
- Ghee - 2 tablespoons

Method
Step 1
HOW TO MAKE CHANA DAL HALWA RECIPE Wash and soak chana dal for 3 to 4 hours. Pressure cook the chana dal with 2 cups of water upto 3 whistles.
Step 2
Once the pressure cools down, drain the excess water from the chana dal. Grind the chana dal alongwith grated jaggery and coconut to a thick paste without adding water. Remove the mixture in a separate bowl.
Step 3
Heat ghee in a pan on a medium flame. Add the chana dal mixture and cook for 10 to 15 minutes on a medium flame. Keep stirring till the halwa becomes thick and leaves the sides of the pan.
Step 4
Add cardamom powder and mix well. Switch off the flame.
Step 5
Garnish with nuts and serve warm.
Step 6
NOTES: You can also use sugar instead of jaggery. Continuous stirring on a low to medium flame, is important to prevent the mixture sticking to the pan. To prevent sticking, you can use non stick pan to cook.
