Pineapple raita is spicy, sweet and refreshing raita made with curd, pineapple and spices.  Since it is little sweet in taste, this raita is best served with any spicy rice dish or biryani.  Pineapple raita is a simple and delicious raita and a easy recipe for pineapple lovers.  It makes up for a cooling and refreshing side dish for any meal.

INGREDIENTS

Thick curd or yoghurt – 1 cup (chilled)

Pineapple – 1/2 cup (chopped)

Cumin powder or jeera – 1/4 teaspoon

Red chilli powder – 1/4 teaspoon

Sugar – 1 teaspoon (optional)

Salt to taste

HOW TO MAKE PINEAPPLE RAITA RECIPE

Take curd in a bowl.  Whisk or beat the curd till smooth.

Add cumin powder, red chilli powder, sugar and salt.  Mix well.

Add the chopped pineapple pieces and mix well again.  Transfer the raita to a serving bowl.  Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve chilled.

Pineapple raita is best served with biryani, vegetable pulao or any spicy rice dish.

NOTES/TIPS

Squeeze out any excess liquid from the pineapple pieces before adding to the curd mixture.

You can also add pomegranate seeds along with pineapple pieces for making this raita.

You can add finely chopped green chillies instead of red chilli powder.
