Sweet corn pulao
A complete meal by itself, sweet corn pulao is a very healthy and delicious rice dish. Corn is low in fat and has lot of vitamins including vitamin C and it is also high in fiber. Corn pulao is made with rice, corn and mixed with spices. It can be had on its own or served with raita or papads. Corn pulao recipe is easy to make and healthy too.

Nippattu is a very popular snack from Karnataka especially from Mysore and Bangalore. Nippattu is usually deep fried but can also be baked. Akki rotti
Akki rotti means rice pancake in Kannada. It is a rice based breakfast dish which is very popular in Karnataka. It is made of rice flour which is mixed with onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, chana dal, cumin seeds, salt and water and heated on a tawa/pan till light brown. Akki rotti is also served as an evening snack. This Akki rotti recipe has been contributed by one of my very close friends, Mrs. Usha Nayaka who happens to be a Mysorean.
